Hickson (Corkaguiny)
Both James and Robert Hickson held lands in several parishes in the barony of Corkaguiny at the time of Griffith’s Valuation. Lands belonging to James Hickson in the barony of Trughanacmy were offered for sale in the Encumbered Estates Court in 1851. In 1863, premises in the town of Tralee, the estate of Daniel Curry, an assignee of Richard and Ursula Hickson, were offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court. In the 1870s Robert C. Hickson was the owner of over 13,000 acres in county Kerry while various other members of the Hickson family held amounts over 2000 acres each. An offer was made by the Congested Districts Board on over 300 acres of the Hickson estate in 1909. John Hickson held land in the parish of Kilmichael, West Muskerry, county Cork, at the time of Griffith's Valuation.
