Boyd (Tireragh)
The Boyd family purchased some of the Kirkwood estate at Castletown or Cottlestown, barony of Tireragh in the later nineteenth century. In the 1870s John Boyd owned over 1400 acres in county Sligo. In 1914 an offer was accepted from the Congested Districts Board for almost all of the estate lands.
