Description | At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the 1850s Peter Maxwell was occupying Birdstown, when it was valued at £50, and leased from the Marquis of Donegall's estate. In 1837 Lewis referred to it as the seat of Reverend P.B. Maxwell. His son, Reverend Robert W. Maxwell, was the occupier in the 1870s. The National Inventory of Architectural Heritage states that the house burnt down in 1984 but stables and other estate buildings are extant. |
