Description In 1786 Wilson referred to Marble Hill as the seat of Mr. Babington. In 1814 Leet had noted a house at Marble Hill as the seat of Reverend Henry Usher. Lewis recorded it as the seat of G. Barclay in 1837. It was held in fee by the Stewart estate at the time of Griffith’s Valuation when it was valued at £20. The National Inventory of Architectural Heritage suggests it was built in the early 19th century by the Barclay family and offers a detailed outline of its history since. In 1906 it was owned by Hugh A. Law and valued at £52. Marble Hill is still extant and occupied.
