Name Description
O'Hara (Mornington) In the mid-1870s Patrick O’Hara of Mornington, County Westmeath, a minor, owned 877 acres in the county. He was the son of Patrick O’Hara (died 1860) of Mornington and his wife Augusta Lake and grandson of Henry O’Hara of Ballylesson, County Antrim. Captain Patrick Henry Augustus O’Hara was born in 1859, married Elizabeth Mary Boland of Dublin in 1893 and they had two sons and one daughter.
Daly (Mornington) In the early 18th century Thomas Daly of Mornington, county Westmeath, married Eleanor, daughter of Owen Young of Castlerea, county Roscommon. Their descendant Owen Daly, born 1780, married in 1816, Kate daughter of Thomas Cooke of Retreat near Athlone and they had a large family of nine children. The eldest Edward was born in 1817 and in 1850 married his cousin Catherine daughter of William Cooke of Retreat. At the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854) Edward Daly’s estate was mainly located in the parish of Stonehall, county Westmeath but also in the parishes of Multifarnham and Tyfarnham.
