McCausland

Louisa Plunket was left an interest in her sister's Catherine's property at Cappaghduff, parish of Ballyovey, barony of Carra, county Mayo, which she assigned to their cousin Sir Richard Bolton McCausland in 1874. In the mid 1870s he is recorded as the owner of 850 acres in county Mayo and 48 acres in county Dublin. He was married to Fanny Blake of Castlegrove, county Galway. The estate was sold to the Congested Districts' Board on 17 May 1906 but Sir Richard's descendants continued to own the demesne and house amounting to about 84 acres until the 1960s.
