Eager
The Eager family in Kerry are believed to be descended from Alexander Eager, originally from Queen's County (Laois), who settled at Ballymalis, county Kerry after the Restoration in 1660. Henry Eager, MD, was a principal lessor in the parish of Killaha, barony of Magunihy, at the time of Griffith's Valuation. Roland Eager was leasing several townlands in the parish of Kilbonane at the same time. In the 1870s Rev. Edward Eagar of Tralee owned over 1000 acres while Eusibius McGillycuddy Eagar, of Caragh Castle, Killorglin, owned over 6000 acres.
