Drummond
In the 1870s Robert Drummond’s estate in Kerry amounted to more than 29,000 acres. The Drummond estate was one of the principal lessors in the parishes of Knockane and Killorglin, barony of Dunkerron North, and the parishes of Kilcrohane and Kilgarvan, barony of Dunkerron South, at the time of Griffith’s Valuation. The estate also leased townlands in the parishes of Ballincuslane and Castleisland, barony of Trughanacmy at the same time. An offer was made by the Congested Districts Board on over 1500 acres of the Drummond estate in 1903 & 1909.
