Burrowes (Sligo)
In 1856 Alexander Burrowes offered for sale his estate at Carrowcrin, barony of Tirerrill. The sale notice indicated that the estate was in the possession of the owner who resided thereon. This Burrowes family may be connected with the family who had an estate at Ferensborough, Granard, county Longford. Alexander Burrowes is still recorded as the owner of 35 acres in county Sligo in the 1870s.
