Auchmuty
The Auchmutys were a family of Scottish extraction who settled in Longford in the 17th century. They were associated with the Brianstown estate in that county. At the time of Griffith's Valuation Alicia A. Auchmuty held a small estate in the parish of Kilmore, barony of Ballintober North, county Roscommon. In 1828 Arthur Aughmuty of Kilmore was a member of the Grand Panel of county Roscommon. James Auchmuty was a Justice of the Peace living at Newpark Lodge, parish of Rathaspick, county Westmeath in the mid 19th century.
