Issercleran or St.Clerans was the home of the Burke family who built the house c.1784. At the time of Griffith's Valuation it was owned by John Hardiman Burke and was valued at £45. In 1906 it was the property of Anne Maxwell (nee Burke) and was valued at £46. It was sold in the 1950s and became the home of film director, John Huston. Up until 2008 it functioned as a luxury hotel owned by the Griffin Group.
