| Description | At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the 1850s, this house was held in fee by John Stewart, when it was valued at £27. Documents in Donegal County Archives indicate it was conveyed to Stewart by Daniel and Elizabeth Chambers in 1845. In 1837 Lewis had referred to "Gartan" as the seat of Captain Chambers. By 1906 it was owned by Edward D. Hewetson and still valued at £27. The house is no longer extant and the site is now occupied by Gartan Outdoor Centre. |
