| Description | The Phipps "of Cregg" are recorded in "Burke's Irish Family Records" from the early 18th century. By the time of Griffith's Valuation the house in Cregg South valued at £22 was occupied by John Carey who held it from John Phipps. On the 25-inch Ordnance Survey map of the 1890s the house at this site is labelled Avonmore. A house is still extant there. |
