John Moloney held Ballinaboy House in fee at the time of Griffith's Valuation, when it was valued at £40. Lewis described it as "a handsome modern mansion, the seat of J. Moloney" in 1837. In the early 1940s the Irish Tourist Association survey described it as being "in a good state of preservation" and occupied by a Mr.Tuttle.
