Name	Description
Synan	At the time of Griffith's Valuation John and Edward Synan held land in the parishes of Iveruss, barony of Kenry and Fedamore, Corcomohide, barony of Connello Upper and Kilteely, barony of Smallcounty, county Limerick. The land in the parish of Kilteely was held from Viscount Ashbrook. In the 1870s Edward J. Synan of Ashbourne, Limerick owned 2,792 acres in the county and John Synan of Limerick owned a further 525 acres.
Flower	The Flower family were settled at Durrow in county Kilkenny by the end of the 17th century. Henry Flower was created Viscount Ashbrook in 1751. Edward and John Synan held part of the townland of Carrickittle, parish of Kilteely, barony of Smallcounty, county Limerick from Viscount Ashbrook at the time of Griffith's Valuation. However the main estates of the Flower family were in counties Kilkenny, King's County (Offaly) and Queen's County (Laois) where the 6th Viscount owned 7190, 7476 and 4515 acres respectively in the 1870s. His county Limerick estate amounted to 334 acres.
