Name Description
Molony The Ordnance Survey Name Books show Edmond Molony holding a townland in both Bekan and Knock parishes, barony of Costello, which were sold by his administrator in the Encumbered Estates Court in July 1850 along with an estate at Redmondstown, county Westmeath. Francis Richard O'Grady bought the county Mayo lands.
O'Grady (Tavraun) An estate mainly located in the parish of Aghamore, barony of Costello, county Mayo but also containing lands in the parishes of Annagh, Bekan, Knock, Kilbeagh and Kilmovee in the same barony and across the county border in the parish of Addergoole, barony of Dunmore, county Galway and in the parish of Tibohine, barony of Frenchpark, county Roscommon. Francis Richard O'Grady had purchased much of his estate in the Encumbered Estates' Court. Lane contends that he also acted as agent for Wiliam Corrie, an English investor who bought some land in the same court. In 1878 George Francis O'Grady of Tavrane, held 1342 acres in county Mayo, 654 acres in county Galway and 1099 acres in county Roscommon. His estates were advertised for sale in 1879.
