Stanley
James Stanley is recorded as the lessor of several townlands in the parish of Killinny, barony of Kiltartan, county Galway, 1n 1855. At the same time he was leasing the house known as Stoneleigh in the townland of Laghtphillip, parish of Killeeneen, barony of Dunkellin, from Anthony J. Lynch. In 1914 over 300 acres in county Galway, the property of William B. Stanley was vested in the Congested Districts Board and in 1915 the Stanley estate of 611 acres in county Roscommon was also vested in the Board.
