McDougall

At the time of Griffith's Valuation William McDougall of Drumlish, Howth, county Dublin, held 769 acres in the townland of Ballyhenry, parish of Kilmainebeg, barony of Kilmaine, county Mayo. In 1876 his representatives still owned this land. At the time of the first Ordnance Survey it was in the possession of Mrs Shaughnessy of Dublin. Records from the 1870s show William McDougall as holding over 600 acres in county Leitrim as well as over 700 acres in county Kilkenny and over 100 acres in county Waterford. McDougalls sold 308 acres in Mayo to the Congested Districts' Board in February and March 1912.
