Grant (Lagduff)
Henry John Grant owned an estate in the parish of Kilcommon, barony of Erris, county Mayo at the time of Griffith's Valuation, much of it leased to William Wilkes. His father was Henry Grant of Wormley, Hertfordshire, who purchased in 1811 the Gnoll estate, near Neath, Glamorgan, Wales. Henry John Grant died in 1861 and his estates at Neath, Wormley and in the barony of Erris, were divided between his two cousins, Henry Jeffreys Bushby and Charles Evan Thomas. In 1876 an estate of 6152 acres belonged to the trustees of H.J.Grant, Lagduff, Ballycroy. By March 1916 Henry North Grant Bushby had accepted an offer from the Congested Districts' Board for 7238 acres owned by him in county Mayo.
