Forster/Foster (Ballymaloe & Garrettstown)
Property at Ballymallowmore [Ballymaloe] and Parkylissig, barony of Imokilly, county Cork, was originally leased to Abraham Forster [Collector of Cork excise] by Richard Longfield in May 1790. The lease was renewed in 1841 to Abraham Thomas Forster. At the time of Griffith's Valuation Abraham Foster held land in the parishes of Cloyne, Middleton and Titeskin, barony of Imokilly, county Cork. In the 1870s Abraham T. Forster of Garretstown, Ballinspittle, is recorded as owning 1,578 acres in county Cork. 135 acres, the property of Robert Forster, at Carriganass, barony of East Carbery, were offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court in July 1865 but the sale was adjourned due to insufficient bidding.
