Knight
Christopher Knight of Ballynoe, parish of Ballyhay, barony of Orrery and Kilmore, county Cork, died in 1728 leaving by his wife Ellen Gibbs a number of sons. The eldest son James Knight of Newtown (Ballynoe) married Elizabeth daughter of Joseph Gubbins of Maidstown, county Limerick. Their eldest son was Sir Christopher Knight of Brickfield and Ballyvodane, county Limerick and Newtown, county Cork who died without surviving sons. The Knight estate was inherited by the Sanders and Waggett families who were related through marriage.
