O'Callaghan (West Cork)
Over 1200 acres of the estate of Cornelius, Henry, Thomas and Rev. Robert O'Callaghan, was offered for sale in the Encumbered Estates Court in February 1858. These lands were located in the baronies of East Carbery and Ibane & Barryroe. Possibly connected with an O'Callaghan family resident at Butlersgift, Drimaleague in the 1780s. Thomas B. O'Callaghan was among the principal lessors in the parish of Kilbrittain, barony of East Carbery, at the time of Griffith's Valuation. He owned over 300 acres in county Cork in the 1870s.
