Irwin (Kilcummin)
At the time of Griffith's Valuation Bridget Irwin held land in the parishes of Kilcummin and Templemurry, barony of Tirawley, county Mayo. By the 1870s her representives owned 1822 acres in county Mayo. By 1876 Christopher Thomas P. Irwin of Rosses Point, county Sligo appears to be the owner of this property. Burkes Family Records refers to the marriage of Bridget Irwin, daughter of Christopher Irwin of Oran, county Roscommon to Robert Irwin, son of John Irwin of Emla in the 18th century.
