Studdert (Fort House)
At the time of Griffith's Valuation Richard Studdert held land in the parishes of Moyarta, barony of Moyarta, Killard, barony of Ibrickan and Kilmaley, barony of Islands, county Clare. He was the son of Richard Studdert of Mount Rivers, parish of Killard and Frances Massy. In the 1870s Major Richard Massy Studdert of Fort House, Kilrush, owned 2,572 acres in county Clare. Weir writes that he moved to Belfast a few years later.
