Harte (Magunihy)
Mahony Harte was one of the principal lessors in the parish of Kilnanare, barony of Magunihy, at the time of Griffith's Valuation. His representatives owned almost 1700 acres in county Kerry in the 1870s. James Mahony Harte, born 1806, was the second son of William Johnson Harte of Coolrus, county Limerick and his wife Marion Mahony. He was educated at Trinity College Dublin and the King's Inns. Lands in the barony of Pubblebrien, county Limerick, belonging to him and other family members were advertised for sale in the 1850s and 1860s.
