One source records Matthew Cassidy as owning 881 acres in county Roscommon in the latter part of the 19th century. In the 1870s Mrs Catherine Cassidy of Dublin owned 880 acres in county Roscommon. She held untenanted land in the parish of Killukin, barony of Boyle, in 1906.
