Barry (Gort)
Mrs. Barry of Cork is recorded as the owner of almost 600 acres in county Galway in the 1870s. This is possibly Elizabeth, widow of William Norton Barry of Castle Cor, Kanturk, whose first wife was Arabella Persse. Included in the family seats is Derrykeel, Gort, county Galway. An offer from the Congested Districts Board on over 500 acres of W.N. Barry's estate was accepted sometime after 1909.
