Egan (Annaghdown)
At the time of Griffith's Valuation John Egan held the townland of Tomnahulla (617 acres), parish of Annaghdown, barony of Clare, county Galway. The Ordnance Survey Name Books record that he was agent to the Rochford estate in that parish. In the 1870s the Reverend John Egan of South Hackney, London, owned 617 acres in county Galway.
