Bourchier (Co Galway)
At the time of Griffith's Valuation, James Bourchier occupied a house at Rathglass, parish of Killaan, barony of Kilconnell, valued at £13. In the 1870s the Bourchier estate in Galway amounted to over 500 acres with further lands in county Kilkenny as well. In November 1887 this estate was offered for sale in the Land Judges' Court by A.M. Bouchier and others but the sale was adjourned due to absence of bidding.
