Donnellan (Kilconnell)
The Donnellan family of Hillswood is connected with that of Ballydonelan. Burke states that the families of Hillswood, Nutgrove and Ballydonelan have a common ancestor in John Donnellan, son of Loughlin Donnellan. At the time of Griffith's Valuation, Edward Donnellan was leasing over 280 acres at Hillswood, barony of Kilconnell, to Obadiah Holland. In the 1870s the Donnellan estate amounted to over 800 acres.
