| Description | The National Built Heritage Service suggests the current Castleforbes House dates from the middle third of the 19th century but incorporating the fabric of its 17th and 18th century predecessors. At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the early 1850s, it was valued at £80. It was occupied by Lady Forbes at that time. It served as the main seat of the Forbes family, Earls of Granard, since the 17th century. In 1906 it was valued at £110. It is still extant. |
