Description The National Inventory of Architectural Heritage links the building of this house to Alexander Jackson, a member of a family with strong milling interests in the locality. The Ordnance Survey Field Name Book states that it was a neat house of two stories and basement, formerly known as Cremorne Lodge, from having been built on the property of Lord Cremorne. The surveyor continues - it was called ‘Cremorne Green when it became the property of Mr Jackson who was an extensive bleach and linen merchant’. Lewis records J. Jackson as the proprietor. Valued at £12 and occupied by John Jackson at the time of Griffith’s Valuation in the mid-19th century. This house is now a ruin.
