| Description | An early 19th century house, home of the Vandeleur family, though they were in residence in the eighteenth century as Wilson refers to Kilrush as the seat of Crofton Vandeleur in 1786. In the mid 19th century it was valued at £85. In 1897 it was completely destroyed by an accidental fire. The site of the house is now a car park for those wishing to visit the Vandeleur Walled Garden, which has recently been restored, or to walk in the woods. |
