| Description | At the time of Griffith’s Valuation, the Kenmare estate held properties described as cottages, valued at £16. Horgan indicates that these cottages were built on the estate to cater for tourist visitors. Lewis, in 1837, mentions the elegant cottage of Lady Kenmare, at a short distance from which a banqueting house had been erected by Lord Kenmare for the entertainment of visitors. In 1906 the property at Glena was valued at £16 15s. Bary states that Glena Cottage was burnt in 1922. |
