Blake (Dartfield)

Estate(s)

Name Description
Blake (Dartfield) The estate at Dartfield was owned by the Blake family in the early nineteenth century. By the time of Griffith's Valuation it was owned by Maria Blake who resided in Yorkshire and employed agents to run the estate. In the 1880s large portions of the grazing lands were let to Joseph Hardy. The Hardy family continued to occupy the property in the early twentieth century. In the 1990s some of the lands and the remains of the house and stables were purchased by William Leahy to set up Dartfield Horse Museum. See www.dartfieldhorsemuseum.net.
