Estate(s)

Name Description
Wilder (Longford) The Wilder family had been associated with land ownership in County Longford since the 17th century and several members served as High Sheriffs of Longford. Theaker Wilder (1717-1778) had an expertise in Greek and Mathematics and was on the staff of Trinity College Dublin though he later served as a clergyman in Donegal. Family history sources suggest his grandson Mathew left Castle Wilder to his son-in-law, Captain Hugh Pollock who, in 1845, sold it to Richard P. O’Reilly, a medical doctor.
