Galbraith (Clonabogan)

Estate(s)

Name Description
Galbraith (Clonabogan) At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the early 1850s, Samuel Galbraith was among the principal lessors in the parishes of Mohill and Killoe, barony and county of Longford. In the 1870s, Hussey de Burgh listed John Samual Galbraith, whose principal seat was at Clonabogan, Omagh, County Tyrone. His estate in County Longford amounted to over 2250 acres. Burke indicates that Samuel Galbraith was the son of John Galbraith of Clonabogan, County Tyrone and his wife Jane Lowry Galbraith, and he succeeded to the estates of his mother and her brother in the early 19th century.
