Name Description
Micklethwait Nathaniel Micklethwayte and Francis Bellers were granted over 3,000 acres in the barony of Fertullagh, County Westmeath. The grant was enrolled in 1669. A 19th century law suit between members of the Micklethwait family records John Micklethwait (died 1799) of Beeston, Norfolk and Maresfield, Sussex, in possession of various estates in England and in County Westmeath. He had three sons John, Nathaniel and Jonathan. A descendant of the second son, Nathaniel Micklethwait of London, owned 713 acres in County Westmeath in the mid-1870s. The Great Landowners of Great Britain (p 283) records him owning 5,356 acres in Norfolk, 2,671 acres in Sussex and 1,839 acres in Suffolk as well as his County Westmeath acreage.
