Foster (Tirhugh)

At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the 1850s Reverend William H. Foster held several mountainous townlands in the parishes of Drumhome and Templecarn in south Donegal. These lands were leased from the estates of the Provost and Fellows of Trinity College, Thomas Conolly and John Leslie. In the 1870s, Arthur H. Foster, of Belle Isle, Ballintra, was the owner of over 2500 acres in the barony of Tirhugh. Wilhelmina Foster was the owner of c.570 acres of the extensive mountain townland of Ballinnakillew, near Laghy.
