Colhoun (Raphoe) At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the 1850s, Samuel Colhoun was among the principal lessors in the parish of Donaghmore, barony of Raphoe South, County Donegal. Major Charles King Colhoun was the owner of almost 200 acres in County Donegal in the 1870s as well as over 650 acres in County Tyrone. Burke (1899) records the Major as 'of Carricballydooey', County Donegal. This family name appears as Colquhoun in some sources.
