Netterfield | In the mid-19th century Moses Netterfield held lands in the parishes of Templeport and Tomregan, county Cavan. In 1876, Moses Netterfield Senior of Dublin and Glendoon, Ballyconnell, county Cavan, owned 555 acres in the county while Moses Netterfield of Carn House owned 627 acres. Four years later the estate of Moses Netterfield and another in counties Cavan and Meath was for sale in the Land Judges Court (The Irish Law Times and Solicitors' Journal, XIV, 99). |
Magee (Tully Lodge) | Charles Magee of Tully, near Killashandra, county Cavan, bought leases of land from Edward Whitely and Moses Netterfield in the 1830s. His son William of Tully Lodge, owned 1,228 acres in 1876. In the mid-19th century William held four townlands in the parish of Kinawley and seems to have purchased part of the Hassard of Tircahan estate in 1852 or held it from Robert Hutton. He died in 1878. |
