Name Description
Montgomery (Swanlinbar) The Journal of the Association for the Preservation of Memorials to the Dead Volume VIII (1911) records the inscriptions on a vault of the Montgomery family of Swanlinbar, county Cavan and Dominick Street Lower, Dublin. An accompanying note states that Nathaniel Montgomery (1775-1831), a solicitor, was the eldest son of Nathaniel Montgomery and Isabella Love. He married Anne (died 1844) daughter of John Castle and they had three children, Nathaniel who married Amelia Mary Anne daughter of Colonel Stephen Holmes, Mary married John Thompson of Killanbrandish, county Cavan and Geraldine married John Waring of Waringfield, county Down in 1833. In the mid-19th century the county Cavan estate of Nathaniel Montgomery was located in the parishes of Templeport, Annagh, Drumlane and Larah while that of Richard Montgomery was in the parish of Drung. In 1876, Nathaniel Montgomery of Riversdale, Swanlinbar, owned 1,027 acres, the representatives of Nathaniel Montgomery of Robertstown House, Naas, owned 937 acres and Richard Montgomery of Dublin owned 426 acres.
