| King (Cavan) | The King family are descended from James King, believed to be a relation of the Most Reverend William King, Archbishop of Dublin. A descendant of James King, Abraham Bradley King, was a prominent citizen of Dublin in the early 19th century and was created a baronet in 1821. In the mid-19th century, the Reverend Sir James Walker King 2nd Baronet, of Corrard, county Fermanagh and Bloomsbury, county Dublin, held an estate in the parish of Templeport, barony of Tullyhaw, county Cavan. Some of his estates in counties Cavan and Fermanagh were sold in the Land Court in April 1865. In 1878 his son, Sir Charles S. King 3rd Baronet of Corrard and London, was recorded as the owner of 3,330 acres in county Cavan and 543 acres in county Fermanagh. |
