Torrens (Inishowen) At the time of Griffith’s Valuation, in the 1850s, Reverend Thomas Torrens, together with the Misses Ball/Bowles, were among the principal lessors in the parishes of Culdaff and Moville Lower, barony of Inishowen, County Donegal. In the 1870s, Hussey de Burgh noted that James Torrens, a magistrate for County Donegal but with a seat in Belfast, owned over 5500 acres in County Donegal as well as over 1200 acres in County Antrim. It was also noted that he was the proprietor of other properties let to tenants on long leases or in perpetuity,
