Hanley (Borrisoleigh) In the mid 19th century Joseph Hanley held land in the parishes of Upperchurch, barony of Kilnamanagh Upper and Inch, barony of Eliogarty, county Tipperary. In the 1870s Joseph Hanley of Cottage, Borrisoleigh, owned 1,112 acres in county Tipperary. Other Hanley landowners in county Tipperary were the representatives of Joseph Hanley, Dublin, who owned 543 acres and John Hanley of Churchtown House, county Meath, owned 932 acres. Joseph Hanly of Cottage died in December 1877 aged 58 (Nenagh Guardian, 31 Dec 1877).
