In the 1870s, Mary Anne Quin is recorded as the owner of over 5000 acres in county Waterford as well as over 500 acres in county Tipperary. Mrs Maria Quinn held land in the parish of Killenaule, barony of Slievardagh, county Tipperary, in the mid 19th century. The Ussher family history in ''Burke's Irish Family Records'' refers to the marriage of John Ussher of Canty and Susanna Hearn in 1781. Their daughter [Maria?] Anne married Arthur Quin in 1802. They lived at Shanakill and had a number of children including Edward Ussher Quin of Shanakill who married Caroline Barry. Mrs Caroline Quin was resident at Shanakill in 1910.
