In June 1858 the interest of Christopher Vaughan Foss in the lands of Springrove, barony of Duhallow, Ryefield, barony of Barrymore, premises in Cork city and barony, county Cork and in the lands of Burgessland and others, barony of Iffa and Offa West, county Tipperary, were advertised for sale. Christopher Vaughan Foss was a soldier who sold his commission and went to Red River, Manitoba, Canada as a staff officier of the Chelsea pensioners.
