Denis Horgan held land in the parish of Macroom, barony of West Muskerry, county Cork, at the time of Griffith's Valuation. In May 1854 the estate of Denis Horgan and Russell Fitton, trusteees of the estate of Timothy O'Callaghan Horgan, at Carrigullly, barony of West Muskerry, was advertised for sale. It amounted to one divided moiety of over a 1,000 acres held on a lease from Henry Leader to John Horgan dated 1801. The property was partitioned in 1822 and the lease renewed to Russell Fitton and Denis Horgan in 1850.
