At the time of Griffith's Valuation members of the Mulcahy family held land in the Clonmel locality, along the border of south county Tipperary and north county Waterford. Southwell Mulcahy held land in the parishes of Molough, barony of Iffa and Offa West and Solloghodmore, barony of Clanwilliam, while Francis and William Mulcahy held land in the parishes of Newcastle and Neddans, barony of Iffa and Offa West. Much of the Mulcahy estate was held from the Earl of Glengall. One of the subscribers to Lewis "Topographical Dictionary" was Edmund Mulcahy of Ballymackee, Clonmel, county Waterford. At the time of Griffith's Valuation Edmund M. Mulcahy held land in the parish of Kilsheelan, barony of Iffa and Offa East, county Tipperary.
