Smyth (Rosscarbery) The representatives of Rev. John Smyth of Castle Downeen, Rosscarbery, were the owners of over 400 acres in county Cork in the 1870s. Richard and Jane Smyth were among the principal lessors in the parish of Ross in 1851. Over 450 acres of the estate of Richard Smyth, an infant, was offered for sale in the Encumbered Estates Court in Jne 1854. This sale included Easton House.
